The forecasts continue to show an exteremely short chase tomorrow. We will be launching from the practice fields near the Buhler Schools Admin building at 7th and Buhler Rd.

If the rain holds back, we will meet at the field around 7:30am, with a launch set for around 8:30am. Any delays will be announced on the 147.12+ repeater, and to the GPSL email reflector Groups.io.

A delayed launch would likely push the predictions a few miles to the north, but no major differences otherwise.

The forecast flipped again this morning, pushing north of the launch location. This particular quadrant would be ideal of a Hutchinson launch.

June 10, 2025

The forecast switched last night to push the flights back into the city of Hutchinson, and/or South Hutchinson.

I've made contact with someone in Buhler to have an alternate launch location if this trend continues.

Flight tracks shifted north of Hutchinson today, yet remains quite close in.

Rain continues to be a small possibility on Saturday morning. Either way, the humidity is going to be high, and therefore the heat index. Be sure to bring plenty of fluids with you for the recovery.

June 7, 2025

We're back to some comfortable relief to the south again. The area south of US-50 through K-96 (and beyond) is sparsely populated and mostly farm land.

Surface weather is forecast to be mostly sunny, with highs in the upper-80's. There's a small chance of rain at this point, but nothing severe.

June 6, 2025

Predictions continue to be uncomfortably close to the launch site. There's a lot of industrial operations happening south of the airport, including the mines, and multiple sand-pits (full of water).

If the flight paths don't move away from the airport and the industrial park, we'll probably need to look at relocating away from the city, possibly to Buhler.

June 4, 2025

Continuing to be a very short chase. In this scenario, Hutchinson continues to be a better launch choice due to Lyons would push the balloon back into the city.
